
RULES AND REGULATIONS
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
1. Registration is FREE and must be made on the official entry form.
2. Uponreceipt of the Entry Form, participants will be notified of their registration with an email confirmation.
3. Closing date is Thursday, 6th August, 2015. All entries must be received by the Competition Office ( LDFA ) by latest 12.00pm. Late entries will not be entertained.
4. All expenses ( e.g. accommodation, travel, materials, etc. ) relating to the participation in this competition are to be borne by the participants.
5. Competition officials will check itemized materials before participants are allowed toenter the competition site.
6. Participants must bring their own work tools. No borrowing, sharing or bartering of toolsand materials is allowed.
7. The usage of mobile phones, camera or other recording devices is not allowed duringthe competition.
8. Participants can secure two assistants only to transport props and materials into thecompetition site prior to the commencement of the competition.
9. Only participants and competition officials are allowed in the competition site duringthe preparation time.
10. Participants are not allowed to re-enter the competition site once he/she leaves thesite during the competition hours, without the prior approval of any competition official.
11. Fresh plant materials have to pre-dominate the design. The use of additional dried plantmaterial, artificial plant material and accessories as well as painted plant material areallowed in minimum quantity.
12. Participants are allowed to display their names or company’s name and logo on thedesign ONLY AFTER judging has been completed.
13. Participants are required to provide their own description tag with a title / brief of their design in not more than 30 words, for the competition piece.
14. Each participant is required to clean up his/her own area at the end of thecompetition.
15. KLOBS 2015 reserves the right to use the competition designs in any form of medium ( print or storage ) for whatever purpose, during and after the event.
16. No electrical power point will be provided nor can they be requested on-site.
17. Penalty points will be imposed on participants who repeatedly refuse to co-operatewith the competition officials and for any disorderly behavior in the competition site.
18. The entire risk and responsibility with regards to the participant’s designs and property,including liability for accidents due from handling; and all consequential and otherinjury or loss arising - shall be borne by the competitor.
19. Judges’ decision is final. No correspondence will be entertained.
20. The decision of KLOBS and the Competition Chairperson is final to any matter duringthe competition. No correspondence will be entertained.
21. Participants are required to ensure that all fresh flowers / plant material and all other display materials used, must remain fresh until the judging time on the same day. Exhibits must remain on view until5.00pm on competition day.
22. All participants are required to maintain their competition pieces in a presentable and fresh state till the closing of the KLOBS event ( 16th August 2015 ). Wilting flowers / plant material should be removed and can be replaced with similar flowers / plant material but no change to the design is allowed.
23. The competition organizer reserves the right to remove and replace any wiltingmaterials.
24. Participants are required to remove their designs from the competition site on Sunday, 16th August 2015 from 8.00 pm to 9.30 pm. Should any participant fail to remove his/her designs by the stipulated date and time, the organizer reserves the right to removethem. Any costs pertaining to the removal/disposal would then be charged to the participant.
KLOBS 2015 - FLORAL ARRANGEMENT COMPETITION
PROFESSIONAL CATEGORY
Competition date : Monday, 10th August, 2015
Time / Duration : 2.00 - 4.00pm ( 2 hour duration )
Venue : Visitor Centre @Perdana Botanical Gardens Kuala Lumpur
Competition eligibility :
• Open to all florists, floral art designers, floral art enthusiasts and hobbyists.
• Minimum 20 years of age, with at least three years working experience in the floral industry.
Competition criteria :
• Competition Concept / Theme design - Participants are required to create floral decorations for a dining occasion, with a festive or celebration theme, in a home setting.
• Participants will be provided with a ‘dining table’, size 6ft X 2.5ft, complete with a white or cream tablecloth and skirting, set within a competition space of approximately 10ft X 8ft. In addition, participants are also allowed to use their own props and other flower materials to create their competition pieces.
• Floral displays must be set up and designed with water retaining material which can be maintained and presentable for the duration of the exhibition periodtill Sunday 16th August, 2015 ( 07 days ), of which replenishment materials will need to be budgeted by each participant.
• Participants are allowed to insert fresh flower materials ONLY on competition day, within the 2 hour ‘live competition’ duration.
• Competition briefing will be conducted prior to the specific competition on the day itself.
• Judging will commence immediately following the end of the competition, followed by result announcement at 5.30 pm.
• Prizegiving details will be announced in due course.
Prizes :
1 X 1st Prize: RM 1,500 Cash & Certificate of Participation.
1 X 2nd Prize: RM 1,000 Cash & Certificate of Participation.
1 X 3rd Prize: RM 800 Cash & Certificate of Participation.
2 X Consolation Prizes : RM 500 Cash & Certificate of Participation.
